Prez Says

I just returned from the April social meeting at Round Table Pizza and was pleased to see a larger than average turnout of the membership for a social meeting. We had several familiar faces that I haven’t seen in quite some time at a FaGowee function. Welcome back. It was nice to see and talk to each and every one of you.

Upcoming Elections

Kati White has graciously offered to open her home to us and host the next social meeting. It will be held on Tuesday, May 22nd (the 4th Tuesday of the month) at 7:00 pm. It is important that you attend, as this will be an election meeting so please be sure to be there. Your turnout and your vote will determine the future direction of this club as we vote for the 2007/2008 Executive Board.
My personal thanks to the following nominees for agreeing to fill and serve the following Executive Board positions if elected are as follows:

President:           Jay Johnson
Vice President:   Wally Baumgartner and Andrea Woelfle
Treasurer:           Norman Benedict
Secretary:           Lee Johnson

If, for some reason you cannot make it to the meeting to cast your vote and you still want your voice to be heard, you have the option of voting by mail. Article V, Section 8 of the By-laws to our Constitution state as follows:

“A club member can obtain an absentee ballot for him/herself by sending a written request to the Chairperson of the Nominating Committee no less than seven (7) days prior to the election meeting. Completed absentee ballots must be received by the Chairperson of the Nomination Committee no less than twenty four (24) hours prior to the election meeting to be counted.

Please contact Bob McDonald at (916) 817-4277 if you’re interested in applying for an absentee ballot.

Sacramento Jazz Jubilee

Ollie Matthews would like to get a group together to attend the Sacramento Jazz Jubilee this year. Please contact her at (916) 966-6169 if you’re interested in joining us. The Jazz Jubilee is held over the Memorial Day weekend.

Cinco De Mayo Party

Diane Wilson has opened her home to host the Cinco De Mayo Party on Friday, May 4th at 5:30pm. The club will be supplying the food for this party so your RSVP is a must. Please contact Diane at (916) 361-3140 to RSVP. See the advertisement elsewhere in this newsletter for more details.

Eppie’s Great Race

Jackie Chesi is again serving as our club’s ambassador to Eppie’s Great Race to be held on Saturday, June 21st. Jackie will touring in Spain this month and will be returning home on June 21st, so please contact her via e-mail to let her know if you intend to volunteer for this event. Please leave your name, phone number and shirt size and she will contact you when she returns home. She is looking for volunteers to serve at the finish line and at the timekeeping area. We’ve done this for almost 15 years now and we’ve always had a great time. The location hasn’t been determined yet, but we always have a pool party/BBQ after the race, so that’s something to look forward to.

Pictures Wanted!!!
Bob McDonald

Take pictures of any FaGowees having fun so I can include them in our photo albums. The albums are brought to each and every FaGowee function with the photos of our past events, and I depend on you, the general membership, to supply those photos for the albums.

So...get those pictures taken so I can add them to our archives.

For the sake of ease in creating and displaying the photo pages, I’d prefer the prints to be 4”x 6” in size. Also, I would like them in groups of 6 so that they will take up a whole page in the album.

If you have any questions, or photos you’d like to part with, please contact me at 817-4277.

I’m Looking For Any Pics of Club Activities:

Fall Foothills, Goldpoint, Hopscotch, Halloween Party,
Bike Ride & General Snow Pics.

See Photos Online!!!

Goldpoint
Since the trip to Goldpoint started, there has been a steady dwindling of participants.
It seems once someone has gone (except for a few stalwarts) they choose not to do it again the following year.

SO

This year, if I don’t have 12 people lined up by August 1st, I’m going to cancel the trip.
You can notify me of your intent by emailing me.  Please do it before August 1st.

FaGOWEE FUNCTION OR EVENT SIGN-UP LATE FEES
(Approved and Adopted at the Executive Board Meeting on July 11, 2006)

SIGN-UP LATE FEES: On each and every advertised FaGowee club event published in the Snow News newsletter, a sign-up due date will be listed as well as the member and non-member prices to attend that function or event. Any person who signs up and submits their payment for attendance after that published due date will be assessed a 50% late fee penalty. In addition, any person who does not sign up at all to attend a function or event and just shows up at the door will be assessed a 100% late fee penalty (payable in full at that time) before being allowed admittance to that function or event.

FaGOWEE EVENT / TRIP REFUND POLICY
Revised, Approved and Adopted at the Executive Board Meeting, October 8, 2003

  1. The following Refund Policy applies to any Club event for which a fee is charged.

  2. You will automatically receive a 100% refund fur any trip or event cancelled by the Club.

  3. If you cancel and someone takes your place from the waiting list, you will receive a refund of the amount you paid, less a cancellation fee. The cancellation  fee will be $10.00 or 10% of the event/trip fee- whichever is more, unless a specific cancellation fee is advertised for the event/trip.

  4. If you cancel and there is no waiting list, or no one on the list takes your place, you will receive a refund of the amount you paid less a cancellation fee and less any expenses that the Club incurs due to your cancellation.

  5. If you arrange for someone not on the waiting list to take your place, you will be responsible for full payment to the Club plus any transfer fees or costs the Club incurs because of the change. Other money transactions are between you and your replacement. You must provide that replacement with a note for the trip leader or you must confirm the replacement directly with the trip leader prior to the event/trip. The person who submits payment must request all refunds from the Executive Board in writing within 60 days after the completion of the event/trip. The Executive Board will review the final financial report from the event/trip and may approve refunds in accordance with this refund policy.

  6. Any member may appeal to the Executive Board for refunds greater than provided by this policy if special circumstances warrant.

  7. There will be no refund for events that are designated as "Fund Raisers" unless they are cancelled or rescheduled by the Club.
